PBL. It’s an acronym I’ve heard (and used) for years. It wasn’t until this week’s introduction into Project Based Learning that I realized how much I have to learn about the essential components of an effective PBL learning environment. The research behind PBL and the potential benefits for students has inspired me to to want to learn more.

As I anticipate the questions that will likely come my way as I implement PBL, I realize I need to be prepared to explain the reasons for implementation. There is tremendous research to support it. Buck Institute for Education is a powerful resource that I know I can refer to in order to defend my reasoning and learn more about it.
